("Pursuut," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you visit our websites, create an account, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Services"). We do not sell your personal information.

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the Services, and information from third parties.
Information you provide
- Account information. Name, email address, phone number, password, and (for investigators) license details and professional credentials.
- Case information. Details you submit when starting a case, including the situation, location, contact information, and any supporting materials you upload.
- Payment information. Billing details are processed by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications. Messages you send to us or to other users through the platform, and feedback you provide.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data. Pages viewed, links clicked, features used, and approximate time spent.
- Device and log data. IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and referring URLs.
- Location. Approximate location from your IP, or precise location if you grant permission (for example, to find investigators near you).
- Cookies and similar technologies. Used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure performance.
Information from third parties
We may receive information from identity verification providers, background check vendors (for investigators), payment processors, and analytics partners.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Match clients with investigators and facilitate communication between them.
- Process payments and prevent fraud.
- Verify investigator credentials and enforce platform safety.
- Send transactional messages (account, billing, case updates) and, with your consent, marketing communications.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
How we share information
- With investigators or clients on the platform when you initiate a case or accept one. We share only what is needed to deliver the engagement.
- With service providers that help us operate the Services (hosting, analytics, payment processing, customer support). They are bound by confidentiality and use limitations.
- For legal reasons when we believe disclosure is required by law, to protect the safety of any person, or to investigate fraud or violations of our Terms.
- In a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
- With your consent or at your direction.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can review and update most account information from your settings.
- Deletion. You can request that we delete your account; some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
- Marketing opt-out. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Transactional messages may still be sent.
- California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA, you have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sharing. We do not sell personal information.
- Cookies. You can control cookies in your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may break parts of the Services.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Pursuut is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. under U.S. law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (for example, by email or in the product). The "Current as of" date at the top reflects the latest version.
